How it started

KNITTING HOPE (a former program of well-known MISION HUASCARAN) is a non-profit organization that seeks to help people in rural areas of Peru (at an altitude up to 11,400 feet above sea level). Thanks to the generous contributions and support from individuals and volunteers, BONNETS OF HOPE BY EVA was founded by junior equestrian Eva Paliouras in 2020.

BONNETS OF HOPE BY EVA promotes knitted products made by local women who strive to be self-sustained and empower themselves. The idea is to give them more opportunities, initially by teaching them how to make bonnets (hats for horses), which were commercialized and promoted in the International equestrian world; now they make additional products, including pouches, purses, and dresses. All proceeds go to Knitting Hope. BONNETS OF HOPE sold over 100 bonnets in a year, and continues to promote accessories in the International equestrian community.
